ABOUT US

We are TLA (The Liberation Army), an organization at service of the African diaspora at home and abroad. We’re more than a creative unit. We are an global movement taking back creative license with the aim to inspire the people and move the needle on culture. We invade space and create time to accommodate African Diasporan voices, both at home and abroad.

Since 1997 our vision has been to ignite progress by blending creativity with activism, under the leadership of multi disciplinary artist, visionary and organizer Bamba AL Mansour. After a lifetime of service to arts and activism Bamba was joined by Elgin “Gbendembu” Williams as project manager and contributor. Together they present Black Activation Month at NIO House.

From its Amsterdam Base, our company spans art direction, brand activation, concept development, event production, programming and videography, offering authentic solutions designed to inspire and empower. creating lasting conversations, push boundaries, and elevate Black narratives.

We urge you visit us at NIO House from October 3rd till 27th and get better acquainted with our organization, our aesthetic and capacity.

ACCESS, information, KNOWLEDGE, GROWTH.

Black Activation Month is a vibrant incubator designed to bridge generations, empower minds, and elevate the community. By engaging with the energy of the youth and connecting with the entrepreneurial spirit of the independent and corporate entities alike, we challenge traditional and conventional learning methods, aligning with our Hip Hop pedagogy mindset. This approach is championed by our educational platform, The Black Diaspora Institute, ensuring an unconventional, dynamic perspective on how knowledge is acquired and shared.
